Jul 1 - 4: Bora Bora, French Polynesia

[View Photos]

Bora Bora is truly magical. Each of the French Polynesian islands has a different feel, and Bora Bora evokes romance and tranquility. When visiting French Polynesia, it is best to get an island hopping airline ticket so you can visit a few of the different islands...Bora Bora is worth at least 3-4 days if you are just going for a week. Also visit Moorea for outdoor adventures and scuba diving, Rangiroa for one of the most amazing diving experiences I've ever had, Huahine for peace and natural beauty or Tahiti if you are one of those travelers that likes a big city feel when visiting a tropical island. Best Places to Stay:

Sofitel Bora Bora Motu Private Island: There are two Sofitel facilities on Bora Bora. The Sofitel Bora Bora Motu is located on a private island with fantastic views of the main island, sunrise, sunset and the crystal blue waters of the lagoon. There are only about 20 bungalows on the entire island and you can take your pick from beach bungalows, tree top bungalows or overwater bungalows...I recommend the overwater bungalows. Kayaks are available and you can leisurely paddle to the opposite side of the island for some great snorkeling. Book your romantic getaway today.
Book you Romantic Hideaway & Hotel at Expedia.

Le Meridien: The Le Meridien on Bora Bora is located on the outer edge of the lagoon facing the main island. This is a very nice property with lots to do: snorkeling, hiking, sailing, relaxing, wind surfing and more. It is unique in that it also has a sea turtle refuge and you can watch them gather during the daily feedings. There is also a small private lagoon which is protected and attracts a lot of fish that you can swim with. Go for the overwater bungalow and you can watch the fish from the glass floor in your room and sometimes hear reef sharks as they wrestle their prey in the lagoon...these are small sharks and nothing to worry about.
